On 17th March 2018, Organised in collaboration with Sikkim Democratic Front, under genesis of Honorable Minister Ms Tilu Gurung where 260 patients were screened and 61 cataract surgeries were performed.

Since this humble beginning, today Mechi Netralaya has grown in leaps and bounds to establish itself as the Centre of Excellence in Vitreo-Retina,Topical Phacoemulsification and Reconstructive Ocular surgeries in the eastern region of Nepal.
